Archive for August 2012

I am having lost of fun planning different activities for the ‘Fine Motor Skills Activity Morning’ on the 22nd September.  There are so many interesting ways to build up the strength in our fingers and explore how objects change when we apply more or less pressure.  My son and I have been playing with all sorts of different materials and as many of the games can develop other learning skills such as counting,  colours and vocabulary it is a great way to sneak in extra learning.  Most of the activities use items that people probably already have in the house or can get for a few francs and often these activities can stimulate a young child more than the toys that we spend a fortune on!

You can find out more information about the activity morning on the workshop page here.

The dinosaur workshop is now fully booked for the 8th September.

Here is a link to the latest Smart Owls newsletter which gives details of all upcoming workshops.

Autumn workshops 2012

The dinosaur workshop takes place in just 3 week time.  I’m really looking forward to it as I have some big craft activities planned which will really let children get creative and make their own dinosaur world.

The workshop is on Saturday 8th September from 9 – 11.45 and costs 50chf per child.  It is suitable for children aged 4 – 7 and will take place at McTots in Adliswil.  If you would like to register your child then either complete the application form on the workshop page and email it to me or just send an email to smartowlsch@gmail.com.

I am busy preparing for the new tutoring term and the first workshops. New resources are arriving and I am busy working my way through the new novels which I have received.

Tuition lessons start on the 22nd August and the first workshop of the term is on the 8th September. It will be a busy time but I’m looking forward to lots of learning, fun and activity.
